Our Primary Volunteer Opportunities include:
Ushering (ages 13+)
Ushering duties require appropriate dress, timeliness and an outgoing personality. You will be responsible for taking tickets, handing out programs, working concessions and reporting to your House Manager. Additionally, you receive free admission to the performance and a discount on tickets for friends and family to attend the show you are ushering.
Office Work (ages 16+)
Office duties require appropriate dress, working with files, organizing data, making copies, and data entry when applicable. This kind of volunteer work helps build organizational and communication skills useful in the working world today. When asked, DCT is always happy to write a letter of recommendation for resumes and college applications for volunteers showing a strong work ethic during their time at DCT.
Miscellaneous Projects (ages 13+; occasionally 21+)
Events require very "hands-on" volunteers. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) setting up and breaking down materials, working at information and will-call tables, handing out flyers and various other resources, etc. Each event has unique elements, and responsibilities vary accordingly. When you volunteer for particular events, DCT will always welcome you to stay and enjoy that event, whether it is a conference or a reception.
Mailings are done a few times each year and can range from 200 to 2,000 pieces. Responsibilities can include folding, stuffing, sealing, stamping, handwriting envelopes for personalization, etc. For mailings that become all-day projects, volunteers are provided with a complimentary lunch.
(PLEASE BE ADVISED: DCT cannot accept community services hours required by reasons of punishment by law. DCT routinely does security background checks.)
Volunteer Usher Hours:
Fridays 6:30 - 9:30
Saturdays 12:30 - 3:30
Sundays 12:30 - 3:30 and 3:30 - 6:30
Office Work Hours:
Weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Miscellaneous Projects:
Varies depending on the event
